大芝加哥水务局再获「未来水务公司」称号 全球仅33家获此荣誉
大芝加哥水务局（MWRD）11月7日宣布，该局在2026年水环境联合会技术展览与年会（WEFTEC）上再次获得“未来水务公司”（Utility of the Future Today）称号。该奖项授予在可持续发展、韧性建设与资源回收方面展现前瞻性创新做法、领导力与实践的水务机构，本年度全球仅33家水务机构获此殊荣。大芝加哥水务局此次因在生物固体处理方面的可持续努力获奖—将水处理过程中回收的有机物转化为未来的土壤改良剂。WEFTEC是北美规模最大的年度水质展览会。大芝加哥水务局此前也曾多次获得该荣誉，包括2016年、2020年（流域管理）与2023年（合作与公众参与）。水务局表示，将继续推进污水变资源、节能降耗与流域治理方面的工作，服务大芝加哥地区的居民与企业。

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Named a 'Utility of the Future' Again, One of Only 33 Worldwide
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) announced on Nov. 7 that it was again named a 'Utility of the Future Today' at the 2026 Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC). The award recognizes water utilities demonstrating forward-looking innovation, leadership and practice in sustainability, resilience and resource recovery; only 33 utilities worldwide received it this year. MWRD was honored for its sustainability work in biosolids management — converting organic matter recovered from wastewater treatment into a future soil amendment. WEFTEC, held this year in New Orleans, is North America's largest annual water-quality exhibition. MWRD has received the honor several times before, including in 2016, 2020 (for watershed management) and 2023 (for partnership and public engagement). The district says it will continue advancing wastewater-to-resource conversion, energy savings and watershed management for residents and businesses across greater Chicago.
