Broncos Reportedly Asked Cardinals About All-Pro Tight End McBride and Were Turned Down
DENVER, Denver County, Colorado - According to ESPN reporters Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport on Saturday morning, November 7, the Denver Broncos shopped widely for a tight end ahead of the November 10 trade deadline, and their boldest inquiry was to the Arizona Cardinals about All-Pro tight end Trey McBride. The Cardinals made clear they had no intention of trading McBride, and the Broncos turned their attention elsewhere, the reports said. McBride was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, played at Colorado State, stands 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 246 pounds, and in the 2025 season caught 126 passes for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns, ranking second in the league in receptions and earning All-Pro honors; before the 2025 season he signed a four-year, $76 million extension. The Broncos are 6-2 and visit the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 8, in Week 9. Denver's tight end group has been quiet this season, with Evan Engram catching 13 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown through eight games, making the position a deadline priority for the team.
