Free Red Cross Smoke Alarm Installations in Rancho Palos Verdes on November 14: Sign-Ups Open
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes, in Los Angeles County, California, announced on November 5 that the American Red Cross will hold a Sound the Alarm event in the city on Saturday, November 14, installing or replacing home smoke alarms for free, with sign-ups now open.
Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fires in half, the city noted, and residents who need a smoke alarm replaced can have the Red Cross install or replace alarms in their home during the event.
