Pittsburgh Sets Citywide Fall Yard Waste Collection for November 7 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; Residents May Set Debris at the Curb
The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works Environmental Services division announced on November 4 that it will conduct its citywide fall yard debris collection on Saturday, November 7. Residents are encouraged to place organic yard debris at the curb for collection and composting, reducing the amount of compostable material going to regional landfills.
Fall is the peak season for yard waste; leaves, pruned branches and grass clippings mixed into regular trash not only add to the landfill burden but also waste organic material that could return to the soil. The city said its scheduled collection days let residents clear their yards conveniently while helping the city cut waste and recycle resources.
Residents are reminded to follow the city's posted guidelines: set yard debris out by 6 a.m. on November 7 at their regular trash or recycling pickup location so collection crews can work efficiently. Specific set-out requirements, collection times and district arrangements follow the latest notice from the Environmental Services division, and residents should check in advance to avoid missing the collection.
For Pittsburgh residents, the November 7 collection is also a chance to tidy yards and prepare for winter. As temperatures drop and many households do their fall yard cleanup, the city is urging residents to use the citywide collection to dispose of yard debris properly and help keep neighborhoods clean.
