Westlake Corporation Returns to Profit in Q3 With $6 Million Net Income on Nearly $3 Billion in Sales
Houston-based Westlake Corporation reported its third-quarter 2026 results on November 4, with net sales of $2.981 billion and net income attributable to the company of $6 million, or $0.05 per diluted share. Results improved markedly from a year earlier: in the third quarter of 2025 the company reported a net loss of $782 million, which included $744 million of identified items (mainly a goodwill impairment in the North American chlorovinyls business); excluding identified items, the year-earlier loss was $38 million.
Excluding identified items, Westlake's third-quarter net income was $58 million, or $0.45 per share, and EBITDA was $408 million, up about 30 percent from $313 million a year earlier on the same basis. Operating income was $43 million, compared with an operating loss of $766 million in the year-earlier quarter.
Westlake is a global manufacturer of materials and innovative products serving housing and construction, packaging, health care, automotive and consumer markets, headquartered in Houston with operations in Asia, Europe and North America. Third-quarter net sales were down from $3.271 billion in the second quarter but up from $2.838 billion in the third quarter of 2025.
