San Francisco Main Library Hosts Mandarin Bilingual Conversation Club
The San Francisco Public Library's Main Library in San Francisco, California, hosted a Mandarin Bilingual Conversation Club on November 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Chinese Center exhibit space on the third floor, welcoming adults to practice Mandarin, chat and build confidence speaking Chinese in a relaxed setting. The library says the club meets twice a month, requires no advance registration, and is built around casual conversation rather than tests or lectures, making it suitable for residents who want more Chinese in their daily lives.
The Main Library is at 100 Larkin Street; the library's phone number is 415-557-4400 and questions can be emailed to [email protected]. The library's Chinese Center has long provided Chinese-language services to the community, and the conversation club is part of that community language programming. The library says such language-exchange activities help residents of different backgrounds communicate and settle into local community life.
