White House Reminds Voters to Make a Plan for Midterm Election Day on November 3

The White House sent voters a reminder on November 2 that Tuesday, November 3, is Election Day for the 2026 midterm elections, urging anyone who has not yet voted to take a minute to make a plan.

The checklist: look up your polling place and its hours, since locations may have changed; know your state's ID rules, as many states require identification at the polls; and plan your time — if you are in line when polls close, you can still vote.

Voters with mail ballots should return them as soon as possible, or drop them off at an official drop box or election office, checking their state's deadline. In many states November 2 is the last day of early voting. The reminder also points voters to free ride options to the polls and to the 2-1-1 helpline for assistance.
