State Farm向红十字会捐100万美元支持家庭防火：佐治亚州获1万美元安装烟雾报警器

State Farm Gives $1 Million to Red Cross Home Fire Prevention; Georgia Chapter Receives $10,000
The American Red Cross of Georgia announced in Atlanta on October 16 that State Farm has given $1 million this year to support Red Cross home fire prevention initiatives across the nation. As part of the gift, the Georgia chapter received a $10,000 State Farm grant for home fire safety education and the installation of smoke alarms. The announcement came during National Fire Prevention Month.
Home fires are the most common disaster the Red Cross answers. The organization says home fires claim seven lives every day, while working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death in half. "The Red Cross responds to a disaster every 8 minutes on average, the majority of which are home fires," said Alicia Doherty, regional executive of the American Red Cross of Georgia. "We are grateful for State Farm's generous support in helping us prepare for and respond to disasters in our communities."
State Farm is the national sponsor of the Red Cross Sound the Alarm program, and its associates volunteer alongside Red Cross teams to install free smoke alarms, build emergency escape plans and share fire safety education. Since Sound the Alarm began in 2014, the Red Cross has documented more than 2,690 lives saved and installed over 3.1 million smoke alarms. Rasheed Merritt, State Farm's executive for corporate responsibility, said the support reflects a shared commitment "to be good neighbors."
State Farm has been a Red Cross Mission Leader since 2024, a tier for donors contributing more than $3 million a year, and received the 2026 Mission Leader Award in April. In 2025, State Farm also donated 15 vehicles totaling $1 million, including four Emergency Response Vehicles, to Red Cross regions around the country.
