Jacobs Music Center (1245 7th Ave) in San Diego, San Diego County, California, hosts the San Diego Symphony's 'Voices of Destiny' on November 20 at 7:30 p.m. and November 22 at 2 p.m., pairing Liszt's Piano Concerto with Mahler's Symphony No. 6.
Mahler's Sixth, famous for its vast forces and the hammer blows of fate in its finale, is an orchestral touchstone; Liszt's concerto brings virtuosity and poetry to the same evening. Jacobs Music Center is the orchestra's renovated indoor home in downtown San Diego.
