萨克拉门托两处后院禽群检出高致病性禽流感：全部扑杀、公共卫生风险仍低

Sacramento: Two Backyard Flocks Culled After Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Detections, Public Health Risk Remains Low
Follow-up: Sacramento County, California — the county health department said in an advisory released Oct. 29 that two backyard poultry flocks in the county had tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza, and that every bird in both flocks had been euthanized. The news was reported on Oct. 30.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture confirmed the first infection on Oct. 5 and a second, separate backyard-flock case on Oct. 23.
County officials said the birds were culled to stop the virus from spreading, but did not disclose how many birds were killed or where the flocks were located. State agriculture officials have not imposed poultry-movement restrictions across Sacramento County, and county public health staff are working to identify and contact people who may have been exposed.
Officials stressed that the overall risk to the public remains low, while urging residents who had contact with sick birds or who develop symptoms to contact the health department. Backyard flock owners were reminded to keep poultry away from wild birds, disinfect equipment regularly, and report unusual bird deaths immediately rather than handling dead birds themselves.
