CPSC Recalls About 11,000 HAIARA W5 PRO Power Banks: Lithium Battery Can Explode and Ignite, with 600 Thermal Reports Including Three Burn Injuries; Sold on Amazon, Full Refund Offered
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 29 that Mitrytech is recalling about 11,000 HAIARA W5 PRO power banks. The power bank's lithium battery can explode and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards; consumers should stop using it immediately. The product was sold on Amazon.com by Mitrytech.
The affected power banks feature '20W' on the front and model information on the side, and lack an eight-digit date code. They were sold on Amazon.com from May 2025 through September 2026.
Mitrytech has been made aware of 600 reports of fire and other thermal incidents, including three reports of burn injuries and nine reports of property damage.
Consumers who purchased their power banks on Amazon.com from Mitrytech should contact Mitrytech for instructions on receiving a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers will be required to submit a photo of the recalled power bank with the word 'recalled' written on it in permanent marker and confirm disposal of the power bank in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The CPSC is the federal agency charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury associated with consumer products, and federal law prohibits selling a recalled product. Anyone who bought a HAIARA W5 PRO power bank after May 2025 should check their unit against the identifiers above.
