The Citizens Bank Opera House in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, presents Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker from November 27 to December 31: Mikko Nissinen's production, introduced in 2012, is a fixture of Boston's holiday season. The opera house is at 539 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111.
According to Boston Ballet's production notes, each season 72 company artists perform alongside 99 selected Boston Ballet School students; up to 182 costumes appear in a single performance, with 350 individual costumes made for the rotating casts and more than 200,000 jewels embroidered on them; the Christmas tree grows from 16 feet to 43 feet during the battle scene.
Performances run November 27 to December 31, 2026, including 1:30 p.m. matinees and 7:30 p.m. evening shows (see bostonballet.org for the full calendar). Venue: Citizens Bank Opera House. Tickets are sold online at bostonballet.org. This is a ticketed production.
