Lake Elsinore Family Fun Fest Runs October 23 to 25: $5 Admission Includes Pro Wrestling, Outdoor Movies and a Foam Party
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — A family carnival comes to Lake Elsinore, a city in Riverside County, California, this weekend: Family Fun Fest runs Friday, October 23, through Sunday, October 25, at the Outlets of Lake Elsinore, 17600 Collier Ave. The event is hosted by Riverside County Carnival LLC and Temecula Valley Community Events, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, and was spotlighted in a member newsletter of the Southwest Riverside Chamber of Commerce.
Admission is ticketed: general admission is $5 for all ages and parking is free. Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Riverside County Carnival founder Alex Kowalkoski said the event was built to showcase local small businesses and to keep prices within reach of ordinary families. The $5 ticket includes live professional wrestling by Valley Wrestling Connection each night, two outdoor movies each night, and a foam party starting at 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting; the foam is non-toxic and suitable for all ages, and organizers suggest bringing a towel and clothes that can get wet. Carnival rides are separate: unlimited-ride wristbands are $35 in presale or $45 at the gate, valid for one day. The movie lineup is Hocus Pocus and Supergirl on Friday, Toy Story 5 and Obsession on Saturday, and The Nightmare Before Christmas and Sinners on Sunday, with bring-your-own blanket or chair seating.
The midway offers classic carnival rides and games, and the vendor lineup is made up of locally owned food trucks and merchants, among them Mexi Tacos and Birria, Minh Bites by Pho Minh USA, and The Dirty Lemonade Co. Organizers say they distributed more than 120,000 free student general-admission tickets through the Lake Elsinore, Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, and Perris school districts, along with charter and private schools. Costumes are encouraged, but for safety no masks are allowed and faces must stay visible; outside food and drinks are not permitted, alcohol is sold only to guests 21 and over, and the festival runs rain or shine with all sales final.
