Ben Simmons Tears Right Achilles in Practice; Kings Guard to Undergo Surgery
Sacramento is a city in Sacramento County, California. Sacramento Kings guard Ben Simmons tore his right Achilles tendon during a team scrimmage on Oct. 18. An MRI confirmed the tear, and he will undergo surgery. Simmons is expected to miss the entire 2025-26 season, ESPN reported. The 29-year-old guard had signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with Sacramento on Sept. 4.
'I have been through dark days before. It made me stronger. This is no different. I will work my ass off and come back strong,' Simmons said in a statement on social media. He had averaged 10.5 points in the preseason. The Kings open the regular season Oct. 21 at the Los Angeles Clippers, and Simmons' absence thins the backcourt rotation.
