跟进：马杜罗夫妇在曼哈顿联邦法院对新增共谋酷刑指控作无罪答辩 审判推迟至2027年6月
据路透社10 月 15 日报道，委内瑞拉前领导人尼古拉斯·马杜罗（Nicolás Maduro）与妻子西莉亚·弗洛雷斯（Cilia Flores）当天在纽约曼哈顿联邦法院出庭，就检方上月追加的一项「共谋实施酷刑」指控作无罪答辩。主审法官阿尔文·赫勒斯坦（Alvin Hellerstein）当庭将二人对新罪名的无罪答辩录入在案。
据路透社报道，这是马杜罗夫妇自今年 1 月被美方抓获押送美国以来第三次在该法院出庭。两人通过法庭西班牙语翻译听取程序、表示理解所控罪名。赫勒斯坦法官当庭还宣布，本案正式审判再次推迟：陪审团遴选定于 2027 年 6 月 14 日开始，而不是此前排定的 2027 年 3 月 17 日。法官同时要求双方在庭上确认，推迟审判不违反被告依据《快速审判法》享有的权利。
法庭记录显示，马杜罗由律师巴里·波拉克（Barry Pollack）代理，弗洛雷斯由律师马克·唐纳利（Mark Donnelly）代理，检方由联邦助理检察官出庭。

Maduro and Wife Plead Not Guilty in Manhattan to Added Torture-Conspiracy Charge; Trial Moved to June 2027
Former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, appeared in federal court in Manhattan on October 15 and pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit torture that prosecutors added last month, Reuters reported. U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein entered their not-guilty pleas on the record.
It was the couple's third appearance in the court since U.S. forces captured them in January and brought them to the United States, Reuters reported. Listening through a Spanish-language interpreter, both said they understood the charge. Judge Hellerstein also announced that the trial would be postponed again, with jury selection now set to begin on June 14, 2027, instead of March 17, 2027, and asked both sides to confirm on the record that the delay did not violate the defendants' rights under the Speedy Trial Act.
Court records list Barry Pollack as counsel for Maduro and Mark Donnelly as counsel for Flores, with assistant U.S. attorneys appearing for the prosecution.
The case stems from the U.S. Justice Department's 2020 "narco-terrorism" indictment of Maduro and others, which GSM traced in its October 8 report: prosecutors alleged that Maduro and his associates partnered with Colombian rebels to flood the United States with cocaine. After the couple was brought to the U.S. in January, the case entered the federal court process, and the torture-conspiracy charge was added this fall.
