台中「台湾超巨蛋」BOT案签约 投资600亿新台币建4.5万席室内棒球场
台中市政府10月16日上午与台湾超巨蛋开发公司完成「台中市运动产业园区新建营运移转（BOT）案」签约，场馆正式定名为「台湾超巨蛋」。项目总投资额600亿元新台币（约18.9亿美元），将兴建可容纳4.5万名观众的室内棒球场，并结合饭店、商场及停车场等设施，是台湾规模最大的单一运动场馆投资案。场馆选址水湳经贸园区，邻近中央公园，占地约16公顷。
开发团队由中信集团、台湾人寿等组成，并与日本ES-CON Sports & Entertainment专业团队合作。签约仪式上，台中市长卢秀燕、台湾人寿董事长许舒博共同揭晓场馆名称，今年登上美国职棒大联盟的投手李灏宇及棒球界人士辜仲谅等人出席见证。市府运动局表示，场馆将依世界棒垒球总会（WBSC）国际赛事规范规划，提供不受天候影响的赛事环境，未来也可承接大型演唱会及艺文展演。
许舒博表示，开发团队预估项目未来可创造逾6300亿元新台币产值、带动7.2万个就业机会，并吸引每年约260万人次观光人次；考量投资规模及建设复杂度，团队将全力推动，乐观期盼在5年内落成启用。
Taichung Signs NT$60 Billion Deal for 45,000-Seat 'Taiwan Dome'
The Taichung City government on October 16 signed a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract with the Taiwan Dome development company, formally naming the planned venue the "Taiwan Dome" (台灣超巨蛋). The NT$60 billion (about US$1.89 billion) project will build a 45,000-seat indoor baseball stadium — set to become Taiwan's largest — together with a hotel, shopping mall and parking facilities, on a site of about 16 hectares in the Shuinan Economic and Trade Park next to Taichung Central Park.
The development team, formed by CTBC Group and Taiwan Life Insurance among others, is working with Japan's ES-CON Sports & Entertainment. Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen and Taiwan Life chairman Hsu Shu-po unveiled the venue's name at the signing ceremony, which was also attended by Major League Baseball pitcher Ha-Yu Lee and baseball association head Jeffrey Koo Jr. The city's sports bureau said the stadium will be planned to World Baseball Softball Confederation standards and can also host major concerts. Taiwan Life estimated the project could generate over NT$630 billion in output value, 72,000 jobs and about 2.6 million visitors a year, with completion hoped for within five years.
