LOS ANGELES, Los Angeles County, California - The latest count released by the Los Angeles County Registrar on Friday, November 6, showed the race for the open City Council District 9 seat still too close to call, with Estuardo Mazariegos fewer than 1,000 votes behind leader Jose Ugarte. The same count showed District 3 candidate Barri Worth Girvan leading Tim Gaspar 31,776 to 30,449, widening her advantage to 1,327 votes. The Registrar said about 414,000 ballots countywide remain to be counted, with the next update scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 7.
