墨尔本——澳大利亚维多利亚州警方11月7日通报，一名男子已因墨尔本市中心发生的致命持刀伤人案被捕。中国驻墨尔本总领馆同日通报，11月6日晚，一名中国公民在墨尔本市中心不幸遇害，犯罪嫌疑人已被当地警方缉拿归案。
维多利亚州警方称，11月6日晚8时许，警方接报赶到市中心维多利亚女王市场附近的 Frederick Way：两名男子（据信都是外卖骑手）此前看见另一名男子摆弄他们停在该处的自行车，上前对质后发生冲突。其中一名骑手被发现身受刀伤，急救人员现场实施心肺复苏，但他于当晚约8时20分被宣布死亡，身份尚待警方正式确认；另一名34岁骑手随后在附近被发现受刀伤，送医后无生命危险。
凶杀组警探11月7日上午在 Footscray 区逮捕一名51岁当地男子，警方表示不再寻找其他涉案人员。当地媒体报道，遇害骑手是注册外卖平台 HungryPanda 的骑手、两个孩子的父亲，持打工度假签证在澳工作，其家人正从中国赶来；HungryPanda 表示深感悲痛，已成立专门团队联系骑手家属并提供支持。

Chinese Citizen Killed in Melbourne CBD Stabbing; Chinese Consulate-General Demands a Full Investigation and Severe Punishment
Melbourne — Victoria Police said on November 7 that a man has been arrested over a fatal stabbing in central Melbourne, Australia. The Chinese Consulate-General in Melbourne said the same day that a Chinese citizen was killed in downtown Melbourne on the evening of November 6, and that a suspect has been arrested by local police.
Police said emergency services were called shortly after 8 p.m. on November 6 to Frederick Way, near the Queen Victoria Market, where two men, believed to be food delivery riders, had confronted a man they had seen tampering with their bikes. One rider was found with stab wounds; paramedics performed CPR, but he was declared deceased at the scene at about 8:20 p.m. and has yet to be formally identified. A second rider, aged 34, was found nearby with a stab wound and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Homicide Squad detectives arrested a 51-year-old man from Footscray on the morning of November 7, and police said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident. Local media reported that the victim was a registered HungryPanda delivery rider and a father of two who was in Australia on a working holiday visa, and that his family was travelling from China. HungryPanda said it was deeply saddened and had set up a dedicated team to contact the rider's family and offer support.
The Chinese Consulate-General in Melbourne said it activated its consular-protection emergency mechanism immediately after the incident, demanded that local police fully investigate the case and severely punish the perpetrator, and is assisting the victim's family with aftercare arrangements.
