加州99号公路埃尔克格罗夫段半挂车连撞两车：一名女驾驶员伤重不治
加州公路巡警（CHP）南萨克拉门托分局通报，11月5日下午1时31分许，加利福尼亚州萨克拉门托县埃尔克格罗夫市以南的99号公路北行路段发生致命车祸：一辆半挂牵引车撞上停在路肩的两辆车。萨克拉门托通信中心接报后派员赶赴埃斯欣格路（Eschinger Rd）以南的事故现场。
CHP称，其中一辆被撞车辆的日产（Nissan）轿车女驾驶员伤势严重，送医后不治身亡；死者身份将由萨克拉门托县验尸官办公室在通知家属后公布。半挂车驾驶员与其他涉事人员的伤情，CHP未在通报中逐一说明。
事故一度影响北行车流，CHP南萨克拉门托分局负责后续调查，肇事原因、半挂车为何偏离车道及是否涉及疲劳驾驶或机械故障均待查。警方呼吁目击者或有行车记录仪影像的驾驶人致电南萨克拉门托分局（916-897-5600）提供线索。
CHP提醒，车辆故障需停靠时应尽量驶离行车道、在路肩外侧下车并远离车流。99号公路该路段为萨克拉门托南部通勤主干道，晚高峰前事故已清理完毕，交通恢复正常。

Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 99 Near Elk Grove Kills One Driver, CHP Says
The California Highway Patrol's South Sacramento office reported a fatal crash at about 1:31 p.m. on November 5 on northbound Highway 99 south of Eschinger Road, near Elk Grove in Sacramento County, California: a semi-truck tractor struck two vehicles that were on the shoulder. The Sacramento Communications Center dispatched officers to the scene.
The CHP said the woman driving one of the struck vehicles, a Nissan, suffered major injuries and died at a hospital. Her identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office after family notification. The CHP bulletin did not detail injuries to the truck driver or others involved.
The South Sacramento CHP office is investigating why the semi left the travel lanes; fatigue and mechanical failure have not been ruled in or out. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-camera video is asked to call the South Sacramento office at 916-897-5600.
The CHP reminded drivers who must stop to pull fully clear of travel lanes and exit away from traffic. The crash, on a main south Sacramento commute artery, was cleared before the evening peak and traffic returned to normal.
