Death Becomes Her to Play Bass Concert Hall in Austin April 27–May 2, 2027; Presale Underway
Texas Performing Arts announced that the North American tour of the Broadway musical Death Becomes Her will play Bass Concert Hall in Austin, Travis County, Texas, from April 27 to May 2, 2027. Priority presale access for members is now underway, ahead of the general public sale.
The musical follows actress Madeline Ashton and author Helen Sharp, longtime frenemies whose rivalry explodes after Madeline steals Helen's fiancé. As Helen plots revenge and Madeline clings to her fading star, the mysterious Viola Van Horn arrives with a secret that is to die for: after one sip of her magical potion, the two begin a new era of life (and death) with their youth and beauty restored — and a grudge to last eternity.
The production is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. Reviews quoted by the presenter include Deadline calling it a "wildly entertaining, perfect musical comedy" and Variety calling it "a laugh-filled, tuneful musical to die for," with praise also cited from The New York Times. The Austin engagement is one stop on the show's North American tour.
