Alphabet旗下自动驾驶公司Waymo联合首席执行官特克德拉·马瓦卡纳（Tekedra Mawakana）11月4日接受采访时表示，公司计划结束与优步在奥斯汀和亚特兰大的独家网约车合作，相关独家安排将于2028年1月终止，届时Waymo将通过自有应用程序在两座城市提供服务。
马瓦卡纳表示，这一决定源于乘客反馈。在现有合作模式下，乘客通过优步应用叫车时能否叫到Waymo自动驾驶车辆并不稳定，她将这种体验形容为“碰运气”。她表示，改由自有应用提供服务后，乘客叫车体验将更加一致。
根据目前的独家合作安排，乘客在奥斯汀和亚特兰大通过优步应用可以叫到Waymo自动驾驶车辆。优步方面曾向Waymo提议，在应用中为乘客增加更便捷的自动驾驶选项，但Waymo未接受。
Waymo已在旧金山等市场通过自有应用直接向乘客提供服务。业界认为，Waymo此举显示自动驾驶企业正逐步绕开网约车平台，直接面向乘客运营。

Waymo to End Exclusive Uber Partnership in Austin and Atlanta in January 2028
Tekedra Mawakana, co-CEO of Alphabet's self-driving company Waymo, said in a November 4 interview that the company plans to end its exclusive rideshare partnership with Uber in Austin and Atlanta, with the exclusivity set to sunset in January 2028, when Waymo will offer rides through its own app in both cities.
Mawakana said the decision followed rider feedback: under the current arrangement, whether a rider requesting through Uber gets a Waymo vehicle is inconsistent, an experience she described as a "crapshoot." Uber had proposed adding a more direct self-driving option in its app, but Waymo declined.
Waymo already serves markets such as San Francisco through its own app. The move signals that robotaxi companies are increasingly bypassing rideshare platforms to serve riders directly.
