纽约南布鲁克林华人社区两席翻蓝 贺立宁、谢晓琼击败共和党现任州议员
纽约州南布鲁克林华人社区在11月3日的选举中实现两席翻蓝：州参议会第17选区，民主党华裔候选人贺立宁（Larry He）击败现任共和党州参议员陈学理（Iwen Chu）；州众议会第49选区，民主党华裔候选人谢晓琼（Joyce Xie）击败现任共和党州众议员郑永佳（Lester Chang）。
两个选区均位于华人聚居的南布鲁克林，参选的四名候选人均为华人。谢晓琼此前担任市议员庄文怡（Susan Zhuang）的预算主任。两位当选人将于明年1月就任。

Two Brooklyn Chinese American Democrats unseat Republican incumbents in New York state legislature races
New York's South Brooklyn Chinese community flipped two state legislative seats on November 3. In State Senate District 17, Democratic candidate Larry He defeated incumbent Republican Senator Iwen Chu. In Assembly District 49, Democratic candidate Joyce Xie defeated incumbent Republican Assemblymember Lester Chang.
Both districts sit in South Brooklyn's Chinese neighborhoods, and all four candidates in the two races are Chinese American. Xie previously served as budget director for City Council Member Susan Zhuang. Both winners take office in January.
Chinese voter registration in South Brooklyn has grown steadily in recent years. Community organizations said they will keep pushing registration and turnout, and will focus on affordable housing, public safety and small business issues. (Source: New York State Board of Elections)
