萨克拉门托县警局正在调查一起11月3日晚发生的羁押中死亡事件。警局11月4日通报，警员当晚约5时30分接到希尔斯代尔大道5400号街区一起袭击报警后赶到现场，一名男子在被戴上手铐后不久失去意识，虽经警员与消防人员现场抢救仍宣告死亡。
根据警局的声明，警员赶到时，该男子正被报警的住户按压在地，情绪激动、言语混乱，警员随即为其戴上手铐。男子被铐后不久变得无反应，警员立即展开抢救并请求萨克拉门托市消防局支援，消防人员到场后继续抢救，男子仍当场宣告死亡。警局未公布死者身份与年龄。
警局表示，凶案组与专业标准部门将按惯例调查这起羁押中死亡事件，县检察官办公室将作独立审查，死因与死亡方式由县法医办公室判定。案件仍在调查中。

Sacramento County Sheriff Investigates In-Custody Death After Man Becomes Unresponsive in Handcuffs
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is investigating an in-custody death that occurred on the evening of November 3. Deputies responded at about 5:30 p.m. to a reported assault in the 5400 block of Hillsdale Boulevard, where a man became unresponsive shortly after being placed in handcuffs and was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by deputies and fire personnel.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies found the man on the ground being restrained by the resident and caller, screaming incoherently; deputies handcuffed him without incident. He became unresponsive shortly afterward.
The Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Professional Standards Division will investigate, the District Attorney's Office will conduct an independent review, and the Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death. The man has not been identified.
