Ducks Beat Canucks 5-4: Gauthier's Second Straight Hat Trick Comes Entirely on the Power Play
The Anaheim Ducks beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 at Rogers Arena on November 3, improving to 7-7-1 and scoring at least five goals for a franchise-record fifth straight game.
Cutter Gauthier recorded a hat trick for the second straight game, a first in Ducks history. He has eight goals in his last three games, six of them on the power play, and all three of his goals in this game came with the man advantage as Anaheim went 3-for-3 on the power play. Gauthier also became the first player in NHL history with multiple power-play goals in three consecutive games.
Mikael Granlund had a goal and two assists, Beckett Sennecke collected four assists, and Leo Carlsson scored shorthanded. Goaltender Laurent Brossoit made 19 saves.
Vancouver fell to 3-13-1 with the loss.
