西雅图选民以逾72%支持续期交通提案：每年约1.38亿美元、公交年班次增至27.5万趟
西雅图市长办公室11月3日公布：位于华盛顿州金县（King County）的 Seattle 市选民在本次投票中以压倒性多数支持续期西雅图交通提案（Seattle Transit Measure）。据金县选举部门统计，该提案目前以逾72%的得票率通过。
市长 Katie Wilson 与市政府领导层感谢选民再次表达对公共交通的强力支持，称西雅图将由此实现该市历史上最大规模的公交服务扩张，让居民出行更加方便。
这项为期10年的提案由0.3%的销售税提供资金，每年约筹集1.38亿美元用于交通项目与计划。其中大部分资金将用于增加公交班次：每年约27.5万趟公交班次，比现行2020年通过的交通提案多出约9.5万趟；服务将覆盖全天，包括中午、夜间与周末等客流增长较快的时段，并加强东西向线路与轻轨站接驳。
提案还将把向符合条件者免费发放的 ORCA 交通卡数量增加一倍以上：新增1.2万张，供住房选择券（Housing Choice Voucher）参与者使用，加上现已发放给 Seattle Promise 学者、低收入学前教育家庭与西雅图住房管理局居民的1万张，总数将达2.2万张。资金同时用于减少公交延误的建设项目、改善公交站点，以及支持未来 Sound Transit 项目的市府人员岗位与西雅图有轨电车运营。

Seattle Voters Back Transit Measure Renewal With Over 72%: About $138 Million a Year and 275,000 Annual Bus Trips
The Seattle Mayor's Office announced on November 3 that voters in Seattle, in King County, Washington, delivered overwhelming support for renewing the Seattle Transit Measure. According to King County Elections, the measure was passing with more than 72% of votes counted.
Mayor Katie Wilson and City of Seattle leadership thanked Seattle voters for once again showing their strong support for transit, saying the city is poised to deliver the largest expansion of transit service in Seattle history, making it easier than ever for residents to get where they need to go.
The 10-year measure is funded by a 0.3% sales tax providing about $138 million annually for transportation projects and programs. The majority of the funding will pay for extra bus trips, about 275,000 bus trips a year, 95,000 more than under the current Seattle Transit Measure passed in 2020. Service investments will focus on all-day frequency, including midday, nighttime and weekend trips, east-west service, connections to light rail stations, and neighborhoods planned for housing and employment growth.
The measure will also more than double the number of free ORCA cards given to qualifying people, adding 12,000 cards for Housing Choice Voucher participants on top of the 10,000 currently given to Seattle Promise Scholars, low-income Seattle Preschool families, and Seattle Housing Authority residents, for a total of 22,000. Funding will also pay for construction projects to reduce transit delays, improvements around bus stops, Seattle Streetcar operations, and city staff positions that support and speed up future Sound Transit projects.
Mayor Katie Wilson said: "With this vote, Seattle voters are once again generously investing in building a transit system that is convenient to use, affordable to access, and that easily connects them to opportunity and prosperity. Seattle is already a great transit city, and this measure will deliver the largest expansion of transit service in our city's history, double the low-income transit passes available to Seattleites, and provide resources for faster and more reliable service."
King County Executive Girmay Zahilay said renewing the measure reflects voters' commitment to stronger, more connected communities by adding thousands of hours of Metro service, expanding early morning and late-night service, and providing free transit passes to more students, working families, and low-income residents. Angela Brady, Acting Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation, said buses will run more often, from early morning to late at night and on weekends, making living without a car a more realistic option for more Seattle residents.
