纽约州投票日：州长霍楚对决布莱克曼，Westchester县扫描仪故障

New York Election Day: Hochul Faces Blakeman as Scanner Failures Hit Parts of Westchester County
New York polls opened at 6 a.m. on November 3 and closed at 9 p.m.; anyone in line by 9 p.m. retained the right to vote. Voters had to use their assigned Election Day polling place, which could differ from early-voting sites, and were urged to confirm locations with the State Board of Elections lookup tool. Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul sought a second full term against Republican Bruce Blakeman. Also on the ballot were attorney general, comptroller and lieutenant governor, all 26 U.S. House seats and all 213 seats in the state Senate and Assembly. During the morning, ballot scanners at some Westchester County polling places malfunctioned. U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler confirmed the problem on social media, and County Legislator James Nolan said voters could still use paper ballots, which were sealed in orange security bags. Attorney General Letitia James said her office was working with state and county boards of elections to monitor and repair the equipment and urged voters to stay in line. The Election Protection coalition also directed voters with problems to call 866-OUR-VOTE. New York generally does not require photo ID, though some first-time voters may need identification, which can be non-photo documents. Voters who had received early mail or absentee ballots could not use voting machines but could cast affidavit ballots in person; hand-delivered mail ballots were due by 9 p.m., and mailed ballots had to be postmarked November 3 and received by November 10.
