Diamond Bar Issues November Safety Blog: Pull to the Right and Stop for Emergency Vehicles
The City of Diamond Bar, in Los Angeles County, California, has published its November "Safety Speak" blog, written by the city's community relations deputy, on what motorists should do when they encounter an emergency vehicle responding to a call.
The blog says every second counts when first responders are responding to emergencies, and that motorists can help keep everyone safe by remaining alert, yielding to emergency vehicles and following traffic laws. When emergency lights and sirens are activated, motorists should safely pull to the right and stop.
When approaching stopped emergency vehicles, motorists should move over when safe or slow down as required by law. The blog also encourages Diamond Bar residents to stay attentive, avoid distractions and drive safely, noting that a driver's actions behind the wheel can help save lives.
