Eskom CFO Calib Cassim Retires After 24 Years, to Act Until Successor Takes Office
JOHANNESBURG — Eskom has confirmed that its Group Chief Financial Officer, Calib Cassim, retired on October 31, 2026, concluding 24 years of service to the power utility, as announced on the Stock Exchange News Service on October 1, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, Cassim will continue to serve in an acting capacity until the appointment of his successor becomes effective.
In a statement on Saturday, Eskom said Cassim played a key role in strengthening the utility's financial position and advancing the organisation's long-term sustainability, noting that Eskom's return to profitability as he concludes his tenure is a fitting milestone reflecting his significant contribution over more than two decades.
The Eskom Board and Executive Management thanked Cassim for his dedicated service and wished him well in retirement. Eskom said it will provide updates on the appointment of a new Group Chief Financial Officer in due course. (Source: SAnews, the South African Government News Agency)
