长滩市2.7万加仑污水外溢：全市沿海水域关闭
加利福尼亚州洛杉矶县长滩市消息：长滩市10月30日晚发生污水外溢事故，约2.7万加仑污水从贝尔蒙特海岸附近一处破裂管道流出，长滩市随即关闭全市沿海水域，万圣节周末的海滩活动因此受限。
长滩市卫生部门表示，外溢与一条输送废水的加压主管破裂有关，破裂原因尚不清楚。市政人员已将污水改道、绕过破损管线并展开紧急抢修，同时请承包商清理外溢物。
由于部分污水可能已经流入海中，长滩市已按州法关闭全市沿海水域，直至水质检测达标后才能重开。
污水事故发生时，长滩居民本周本就面临强厄尔尼诺带来的高潮位，洛杉矶县、橙县与文图拉县的沿海洪水提示仍在生效，这已是连续第四天出现高潮位。长滩市近年多次受上游河流污染影响，今年5月洛杉矶一处管道破裂漏出2,400加仑石油并流入洛杉矶河，市方当时以吸油围栏阻止原油入海。

27,000 Gallons of Sewage Spill in Long Beach: All Coastal Waters Closed
Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California: About 27,000 gallons of sewage spilled from a ruptured pipe near Belmont Shore on the evening of October 30, prompting the city to close all of its coastal waters over the Halloween weekend.
The Long Beach health department said the spill was associated with a break in a force main, a pressurized pipe that conveys wastewater, and that the cause of the break remains unclear. City crews rerouted the sewage to bypass the damaged line, began emergency repairs, and called in a contractor to clean up the spilled material.
Because some of the sewage may have reached the ocean, the city closed coastal waters citywide as required by state law. The waters will remain closed until testing shows they meet quality standards.
The spill came as Long Beach residents were already bracing for a fourth day of high tides linked to a stronger-than-usual El Nino, with coastal flood advisories in effect across Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. The city has repeatedly dealt with pollution flowing downstream through the Los Angeles and San Gabriel rivers, including a 2,400-gallon oil spill in May whose crude was kept from the ocean with containment booms in Long Beach.
