怀俄明州州长戈登任命克拉森为第一司法区法官：曾任联邦检察官，填补弗勒利歇尔退休空缺
怀俄明州州长办公室10月30日发布：州长马克·戈登（Mark Gordon）任命马克·克拉森（Mark Klaassen）为怀俄明州第一司法区地区法院法官，该辖区服务于拉勒米县（Laramie County），县治为州府夏延市（Cheyenne）。
这一任命填补法官彼得·K·弗勒利歇尔（Peter K. Froelicher）退休留下的空缺；弗勒利歇尔的退休自2027年1月3日起生效。克拉森的任命由州长据司法提名委员会的提名作出。
克拉森现任怀俄明州总检察长办公室副总检察长。他曾于2017年至2021年担任怀俄明区联邦检察官，2009年至2017年任助理联邦检察官，此前还曾担任美国国土安全部总法律顾问办公室主任。

Wyoming Governor Gordon Appoints Mark Klaassen as District Judge for the 1st Judicial District
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Mark Klaassen to be a district court judge for the state's 1st Judicial District, which serves Laramie County, the Governor's Office announced on October 30. The district's seat is Cheyenne, the state capital.
The appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Peter K. Froelicher, who resigns effective January 3, 2027. Klaassen was selected through the Judicial Nominating Commission process.
Klaassen currently serves as deputy attorney general for the Wyoming Attorney General's Office. He previously served as U.S. attorney for the District of Wyoming from 2017 to 2021 and as an assistant U.S. attorney from 2009 to 2017. Before that, he served as chief of staff to the general counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Klaassen graduated from Campbell County High School before earning a degree in finance from Oral Roberts University. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1998.
"Mark Klaassen has spent decades proving his commitment to justice, but what impresses me most is his character. Whether serving as our U.S. attorney or leading in the Attorney General's Office, Mark has always been guided by a deep respect for the rule of law and the people it protects," Gov. Gordon said. "From his roots in Campbell County to this bench in Cheyenne, Mark has earned the trust of the legal community and the people of Wyoming. I couldn't be more pleased to make this appointment."
"I am honored and humbled by the confidence the governor has placed in me, as well as the Judicial Nominating Commission," Klaassen said. "I'd like to commend Judge Froelicher for his years of service. I look forward to serving the people of Laramie County and Wyoming."
