Rockets Visit Mavericks in NBA Cup Play on October 30: Sengun Questionable, Sheppard Ruled Out
The Houston Rockets visit the Dallas Mavericks on the night of October 30 in an NBA Cup group-stage game. Houston opened the season 5-0 after a road win over the Milwaukee Bucks on October 29.
The final injury report released October 30 lists center Alperen Sengun as questionable with lower-back soreness — he is in danger of missing a second straight game. Guard Reed Sheppard, also with lower-back soreness, has been ruled out, his first missed game since October 23. Veteran Marcus Smart is questionable with a left forearm strain after missing three straight games, and center Steven Adams remains out with a right soleus strain. For Dallas, forward Naji Marshall is questionable due to illness.
If Sengun cannot play, Jabari Smith Jr. and Clint Capela are expected to take on larger roles in the Rockets' frontcourt rotation.
