菲华商联总会短视频大赛颁奖：冠军各获12万比索，「乡村学校计划」65年捐建校舍逾6500栋
菲律宾菲华商联总会（FFCCCII）主办的「为每个梦想建一间教室」（A Classroom for Every Dream）短视频大赛颁奖礼10月24日在奎松市的Luxent酒店举行。该会理事长维克多·林（Victor Lim）与菲律宾教育部长桑尼·安加拉（Sonny Angara）共同为获奖者颁奖，两名组别冠军各获得12万比索奖金。
本次大赛以菲华商联总会1961年创办的「乡村学校计划」（Operation Barrio Schools）为主题，邀请参赛者以短视频讲述这项计划的故事。两个组别的冠军分别由新怡诗夏省加潘市（Gapan）的Jhon Henry Arquileta和达沃市的Ramil Carmona Salon Jr.获得。大赛设冠军12万比索、二等奖8万比索、三等奖5万比索，奖金总额85万比索。
「乡村学校计划」自1961年运行至今已有65年。菲华商联总会通过该计划向菲律宾各地公立学校捐建校舍逾6500栋，多为双教室校舍，合计提供逾1.3万间教室。菲华商联总会旗下有逾170个菲华商会组织，是菲律宾规模最大的华人商业社团之一。
维克多·林在颁奖礼上表示，投资教育就是投资国家的未来。安加拉在致辞中说，每一间教室的背后，都有成千上万名受助学生的故事。
FFCCCII Video Contest Honors Champions With 120,000 Pesos Each; Barrio Schools Program Has Donated 6,500+ School Buildings in 65 Years
The awards ceremony of the 'A Classroom for Every Dream' short-video contest, organized by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FFCCCII), was held on October 24 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. FFCCCII President Victor Lim and Philippine Education Secretary Sonny Angara presented the awards, with each of the two category champions receiving 120,000 pesos.
The contest was themed on the Operation Barrio Schools program, founded by the FFCCCII in 1961, and invited entrants to tell the program's story through short videos. The two category champions were Jhon Henry Arquileta of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija, and Ramil Carmona Salon Jr. of Davao City. The contest offered 120,000 pesos for champions, 80,000 pesos for second place and 50,000 pesos for third place in each category, with a total prize pool of 850,000 pesos.
Operation Barrio Schools has now run for 65 years since 1961. Through the program, the FFCCCII has donated more than 6,500 school buildings to public schools across the Philippines, most of them two-classroom buildings, providing more than 13,000 classrooms in total. The federation counts more than 170 Filipino-Chinese chambers of commerce among its members and is one of the largest Chinese-Filipino business organizations in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Victor Lim said that investing in education is investing in the future of the nation. In his remarks, Secretary Angara said that behind every classroom stand the stories of thousands of students it has helped.
