Body of Missing Kayaker India Norman Found October 29 at Oklahoma's Tom Steed Lake; Strong Winds Had Capsized Both Kayaks and Her Companion Was Rescued
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced on October 29 that the body of a kayaker who went missing at Tom Steed Lake in the state's southwest has been found. The missing kayaker, India Norman, was out on the lake with a friend on Friday evening when strong winds capsized both of their kayaks; the companion was rescued, but Norman remained missing.
The Highway Patrol used all available resources, including its dive team, to search, and ultimately found her body in the area near Cold Spring. Norman's loved ones, during the search, asked the community to pray for her. The Highway Patrol announced the recovery on social media on the evening of October 29 but released no further details.
