The department's Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation said the project will replace the existing damaged, structurally compromised floating docks with new ADA-compliant models; the contractor is Sea Engineering, Inc., the total construction cost is just over $493,000, and the work will take about two months.
For the safety of boaters and workers, the Ala Wai boat ramp will remain closed throughout construction, and boaters can use the ramps at Maunalua Bay or Keʻehi Harbor instead.
