Halloween weekend community events in Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, got underway on October 29, with a series of family-oriented activities to follow. According to the schedule published by Visit Las Cruces, Amaro Winery hosts a 'spooky plant bingo' at 7 p.m. on October 29, and the Museum of Nature & Science offers a hands-on haunted-house science activity at 9 a.m. that day, with participants welcome to attend in costume.
Starting October 30, child-friendly trunk-or-treat and family activities begin. Over the same span, the Calavera Coalition holds its Día de los Muertos celebration at Old Mesilla Plaza from October 30 to November 2, with different booths, dancing and music each day.
