Film: Sony Releases New Trailer for Jumanji: Open World, in Theaters in Late December
Sony Pictures released a new trailer on October 28 for the adventure comedy Jumanji: Open World, directed by Jake Kasdan and starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. This time the game breaks free of its console and its characters enter the real world. The film opens in theaters in late December, including December 23 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The trailer shows the heroes, who previously escaped the game's jungle world, facing its characters and animals in their own world as the two worlds collide. The film is written by Jake Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, and the cast also includes Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, Rhys Darby, Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito.
The franchise began with the 1995 film Jumanji starring Robin Williams, and was successfully relaunched with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 and Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019, both global box-office hits. The studio positions the new film as the final installment of the trilogy.
