Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota: FBI Director Patel Attends Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner on the Evening of October 28, Joining Hall of Fame Coach Dungy in Honoring Fallen Deputy
FBI Director Kash Patel and U.S. Marshals Service Director Gadyaces Serralta made a surprise visit to Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota, on the evening of October 28, attending the 45th annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner and Children's Charity Fundraiser. Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy had been announced in May as the headliner for this year's dinner; the two federal law enforcement chiefs were surprise visitors that evening. The dinner was held amid the fallout from the homicide of Minnehaha County Sheriff's Deputy Katherine Frank, and its purpose is to honor law enforcement officers and raise funds for children's charities. Patel spoke at the dinner; event photos show him addressing attendees from the podium.
