California Secretary of State Weber and Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph Urge Early Voting and Ballot Tracking for Nov. 3 General Election
The Office of the California Secretary of State announced in Sacramento on October 26 (PR26-133) that Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph are encouraging Californians to vote early in the November 3, 2026, General Election and to use Where's My Ballot to track their ballots. Ralph is featured in a new public service announcement for the office's "Vote Early, California!" campaign.
Weber said voting gives people a chance to participate in the decisions that affect their everyday lives, shaping the future of their families and communities, and thanked Ralph for reminding Californians to vote early and track their ballots. Ralph, an Emmy Award-winning actress best known for her award-winning portrayal of Deena Jones in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, currently stars in Abbott Elementary, which just began its sixth season on ABC. She said that when we vote, we strengthen our communities and honor those who came before us, adding: "Your voice matters. Your vote is your power. Use it!"
The office said all active registered California voters have been mailed ballots, and voters can return their ballots via a secure drop box, a polling location, or by mail. To be counted, a ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day, November 3, 2026. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing a ballot at least seven days before Election Day, as mail may not be postmarked until the following day in some locations; voters mailing closer to Election Day should take the ballot to a post office and ask for a manual postmark. Voters can sign up for Where's My Ballot to track their ballot by text message or email at every step. Eligible Californians who have not yet registered can still register conditionally at vote.ca.gov.
