The Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California, hosts a jazz-meets-symphony program tonight, October 27: pianist and composer Jason Moran joins Pacific Symphony for Jason Moran Presents Duke Ellington: My Heart Sings, a contemporary take on the music of Duke Ellington.
According to Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Moran, regarded as one of the most influential jazz pianists of his generation, appears as soloist and curator with Pacific Symphony, the center's resident orchestra, bringing Ellington's music into the concert hall for a single performance.
