Follow-Up: Palos Verdes Drive South Sewer Repair Brings Staged Traffic Control Oct. 23-28 in Rancho Palos Verdes

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes, in Los Angeles County, California, issued a traffic alert on Oct. 22: the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD) sewer repair project on Palos Verdes Drive South will continue, with staged traffic control on the road from Oct. 23 to Oct. 28. Drivers should expect delays.

The schedule: on Friday, Oct. 23, from about 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., traffic control will be in place on Palos Verdes Drive South from the Trump National Drive/Forrestal Drive area to Conqueror Drive; on Saturday, Oct. 24, from about 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., traffic control will cover the oceanside lane of the same segment; and from Monday, Oct. 26 through Wednesday, Oct. 28, about 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, control moves to the oceanside lane from Conqueror Drive to the private road east of Yacht Harbor Drive.

The sewers in this area have been affected by ongoing ground movement, and LACSD is carrying out repairs along Palos Verdes Drive South. As GSM reported earlier, the project segment was fully closed for construction on Oct. 22-23; this round sets out the staged controls that follow.

The city advises drivers to consider an alternate route. If you must drive through the work area, proceed slowly, yield to workers, and obey traffic control on site. Project details are available on the LACSD website.
