In San Diego, a city in San Diego County, California, San Diego Unified School District's latest state results show broad improvement, according to data released by California on October 15 and analyzed by Voice of San Diego: the graduation rate rose sharply to a reported record of about 94 percent, the share of graduates meeting the state's "prepared" standard increased, and the district outperformed other large urban districts in California on both measures. Suspension rates and chronic absenteeism declined, though neither has fully returned to pre-pandemic levels.
District officials credit new graduation pathways added in recent years. San Diego Unified is California's second-largest school district; school-by-school figures are published on the California School Dashboard.
