檀香山入选美国国家公园管理局“二战遗产城市”
位于夏威夷州檀香山县的檀香山市（市县合一），美国国家公园管理局（NPS）10月16日公布新一批“美国二战遗产城市”（American World War II Heritage Cities）名单，夏威夷州首府檀香山名列其中。这一荣誉旨在表彰那些在二战期间为战争努力作出突出贡献、并致力于保存和讲述那段历史的城市。
此次入选的其他辖区还包括：南卡罗来纳州的 South Charleston、佐治亚州的 Thomasville and Thomas County、西弗吉尼亚州的 Weirton、密苏里州的 St. Louis County、华盛顿州的 Spokane and Spokane County、华盛顿哥伦比亚特区的 Fort McNair 与 Fort Myer、印第安纳州的 La Porte County、俄亥俄州的 Lorain County 以及康涅狄格州的 State of Connecticut。管理局同时宣布，下一轮提名预计于2027年初开放。（GSM 据美国国家公园管理局发布报道）
Honolulu Named a World War II Heritage City by the National Park Service
Honolulu is a city in Honolulu County, Hawaii (a consolidated city-county). The National Park Service (NPS) on Oct. 16 announced a new class of American World War II Heritage Cities, and Honolulu, Hawaii's capital, is among them. The designation honors communities that contributed significantly to the war effort and work to preserve and tell that history.
Also designated were South Charleston, South Carolina; Thomasville and Thomas County, Georgia; Weirton, West Virginia; St. Louis County, Missouri; Spokane and Spokane County, Washington; Fort McNair and Fort Myer in Washington, D.C.; La Porte County, Indiana; Lorain County, Ohio; and the State of Connecticut. The NPS said the next nomination round is expected to open in early 2027. (GSM, via the National Park Service)
