Johnston Takes Over No. 1 in Iowa High School Football Rankings; Southeast Polk Falls to Fourth
DES MOINES — Sports Illustrated's October 18 Top 25 Iowa high school football rankings have a new No. 1: Johnston, which beat Southeast Polk 38-30 to take the top spot.
Johnston (7-1) is the first team to beat Southeast Polk this season, and the result leaves no unbeaten teams left in Class 5A. Southeast Polk (7-1) dropped to fourth, while Cedar Rapids Xavier (8-0) rose to second and Dowling Catholic (7-1) sits third. (GSM, based on Sports Illustrated)
