Two Fatal Crashes Involving Two-Wheelers in Three Days in Tucson, Police Say
TUCSON — Tucson has seen two fatal crashes involving two-wheelers in three days. Police said a 30-year-old woman riding a stand-up electric scooter was struck and killed by a 2023 Kia Sportage at E. Grant Rd and N. Ridgeway Rd at about 9:45 p.m. on October 15; the 69-year-old driver failed to yield, the scooter's lights were off, and impairment was not a factor, according to the Tucson Police Department.
On Saturday, a fatal motorcycle crash closed Valencia Rd between Swan Rd and the I-10 frontage road until after 8:30 p.m. Local media counted it as the seventh serious two-wheeler crash in Tucson this month. (GSM, based on Tucson police and KOLD/KVOA reports)
