Unbeaten 49ers (5-0) Host Commanders in Season's First Primetime Game on Monday Night
Santa Clara is a city in Santa Clara County, California. The San Francisco 49ers play their first primetime game of the season on Monday, Oct. 19, hosting the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Kickoff is 5:15 p.m. Pacific, with national broadcasts on ESPN and ABC.
According to the 49ers' Oct. 17 injury update, the team is 5-0 and unbeaten. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk has returned to practice and is available, while wide receiver Deebo has been ruled out. Running back Christian McCaffrey and tackle Trent Williams both practiced in full on Friday and Saturday.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan praised quarterback Brock Purdy's steady play, calling him "unselfish, playing only to win." Purdy's completion percentage and touchdown totals rank among the league's best this season, and he is approaching eligibility for the NFL's career passer-rating record. Strong on both sides of the ball, the 49ers are viewed as a leading contender for the NFC title.
