U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche joined Sen. Marsha Blackburn, the Republican candidate for Tennessee governor, at an event in Memphis on October 16, carried live by PBS NewsHour.
Also on October 16, prediction market platform Kalshi was reported to have contributed $50,000 to a political action committee supporting Blackburn. The donation follows a court case Kalshi lost to Tennessee over whether its sports event contracts constitute gambling.
Tennessee voters will choose their next governor on November 3. On the Democratic side, Memphis city council member and Shelby County chief public defender Jerri Green says she can pull off an upset in the race to succeed Gov. Bill Lee.
