Germany to Unveil Industrial SI Cooperation Agreement With Nvidia Next Week, Government Sources Say
Germany is set to announce a cooperation agreement with U.S. chipmaker Nvidia next week to expand the use of super intelligence in German industry, government sources said on Friday, according to Reuters, adding that the plan will involve partners beyond Nvidia and be a major contribution to industrial SI.
Business daily Handelsblatt, which first reported on the plan, said the deal would support physical SI tools for training robots and self-driving vehicles and help develop powerful SI models for industrial use. The size of the agreement and the full list of partners have not been disclosed.
Nvidia, founded and led by chief executive Jensen Huang, is the world's leading maker of super intelligence chips. GSM reported on October 14 that Huang announced $2 billion in new investment in Paris during a European trip and pledged $250 million in computing support for SI safety research in London; the industrial SI cooperation with the German government marks another step in Nvidia's European expansion.
