亚利桑那州长任命两名皮马县高等法院法官 一人曾任首席助理联邦检察官
Phoenix — 亚利桑那州州长凯蒂·霍布斯10月15日宣布，任命道恩·R·沃尔顿与妮可·P·萨维尔为皮马县高等法院法官，填补两名法官离任后出现的空缺。
沃尔顿自2024年起担任皮马县高等法院法院专员，2021年至2024年曾任马里科帕县高等法院专员，此前在州检察长办公室从事儿童依赖性案件与行政许可事务。萨维尔自2004年起在联邦检察官亚利桑那区办公室任职，2021年至2025年任首席助理联邦检察官，2014年至2019年任Tucson刑事处处长，早年还在皮马县与吉拉县检察官办公室工作。
州长办公室表示，两处空缺分别来自法官克里斯托弗·C·布朗宁退休，以及法官D·格雷格·萨卡尔转任联邦治安法官。皮马县高等法院是亚利桑那州第二大县的审判级法院，总部设在Tucson。
霍布斯说：「我很自豪任命两位高素质的律师进入皮马县高等法院。」
Arizona Governor Appoints Two Pima County Superior Court Judges
Phoenix — Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs announced on October 15 the appointments of Dawn R. Walton and Nicole P. Savel as Pima County Superior Court judges, filling two vacancies.
Walton has served as a Pima County Superior Court commissioner since 2024, after holding the same role in Maricopa County from 2021 to 2024 and earlier working on dependency and administrative-licensing matters at the state Attorney General's Office. Savel has served in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona since 2004, including as First Assistant U.S. Attorney from 2021 to 2025 and as chief of the Tucson criminal division from 2014 to 2019.
The governor's office said the vacancies arose from Judge Christopher C. Browning's retirement and Judge D. Greg Sakall's move to a federal magistrate judgeship.
"I am proud to appoint two highly qualified attorneys to the Pima County Superior Court," Hobbs said.
