罗德岛州启动秋季疫苗接种宣传 州长麦基带头接种流感疫苗
罗德岛州州长丹·麦基（Dan McKee）10月16日与州卫生厅厅长杰里·拉金（Jerry Larkin）及罗德岛州美国儿科学会分会负责人一同接种流感疫苗，启动全州流感疫苗接种宣传，提醒居民重视疫苗接种。启动活动在考文垂药房（Coventry Pharmacy）举行。
拉金表示，罗德岛州所有6个月及以上的居民都可以也应当接种流感疫苗，对大多数居民而言，接种新冠疫苗同样重要；无论保险状况或支付能力如何，疫苗对所有人开放。他指出，接种流感与新冠疫苗有助于预防重症与住院，随着冬季和节假日临近，全州流感与新冠活动预计上升，现在正是接种时机。考文垂药房经理埃马纽埃尔·弗里德曼（Emmanuel Fridman）表示，全州的独立药房提供便利与个性化服务，是接种疫苗的良好选择。

Governor McKee, Rhode Island Health Department Kick Off Fall Vaccination Campaign
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee joined Director of Health Jerry Larkin, MD, and leadership from the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics on October 16 to get his flu shot and kick off the state's flu vaccination campaign, reminding Rhode Islanders of the importance of vaccinations. The kickoff event was held at Coventry Pharmacy.
Larkin said everyone 6 months of age and older in Rhode Island can and should get vaccinated against the flu, that for most Rhode Islanders vaccination against COVID-19 is just as important, and that the vaccines are available to everyone regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. He said vaccination can help prevent severe illness and hospitalizations, and that with flu and COVID-19 activity expected to increase as winter and the holidays approach, the time to get vaccinated is now. Dr. Emmanuel Fridman, pharmacy manager at Coventry Pharmacy, said independent pharmacies across the state offer convenience and personalized care, making them great options for getting vaccinated.
The Department of Health said the kickoff is one of many efforts this fall and winter to communicate the importance of vaccination. Earlier this month the department launched a paid media campaign to promote seasonal vaccinations against flu, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), has been communicating regularly with community vaccination partners such as schools and clinicians, and its Office of Immunization staff have been conducting in-person education, awareness and outreach activities at public venues, facilities, schools and conferences across Rhode Island.
