Texas Directs $78 Million to Rural Health Care for Facilities, Equipment and Staffing
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced $78 million in state funding for rural health care, covering facility upgrades, equipment, recruitment and retention of health care workers, and telehealth services. Recipients include rural hospitals, community health centers and emergency medical services, with details administered by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Abbott said rural communities in Texas deserve high-quality care, and that the investment will help rural providers keep staff, modernize equipment and better serve local residents.
